It's kind of similar with New Years Eve. By some weird automatism it's expected to have the craziest best time ever (if we consider attempts to have each year better than previous), but it never goes as it was planned. Around 10 years ago I stopped planning where to go for New Years Eve (what to wear as well ). Also, I hate waiting so I would leave my house around 23h. With a nice traffic crowd that would make me being in target place around 23:30 with just enough time to have 2 short drinks and be in appropriate mood for midnight. But lately I found extremely satisfying to load my DVD player with latest movies and make a 2 days marathon while my daughter is consuming Grandma Service.
