The latest remembered torrent deleted is 300 DVDRip. I am 100% sure I didn't break any rule. Can I know what is wrong this time ?? The 300 release was a "repackage" from the person of this thread. It was recieved by them from another torrent, and wasn't renamed, but, the initial torrent up' er named it what it is. Obviously, incorrectly. In other words, MaZO got the torrent from somewhere else, and just "packaged" the exact thing to torrentbox. Who would be responsible for improper naming? MaZO, or where he got it from... because what I can see, MaZO just got hit with "torrentbox's" uploading rules, whereas the original poster of the movie, since they didnt post it here, isnt being held responsible for the infringement. Lets say I downloaded a bunch of Paul Oakenfold albums, and the inital torrents that I got them from, stated they were CDrip. If I was going to "package" them in a different way, and I didnt know the original torrent up 'er maybe got the sources from something other than what they said (CDrip), but I maintained the same naming convention of the original torrents... My guess is, if I up'ed my package torrent to TorrentBox, I would be guilty of making a torrent incorrectly labeled. Right? We all know that the legality of torrent distribution is a grey area and has yet to go to any court to be rulled on. There is a presumption by many that it is illegal to distribute movies. OK clear so far? Well one argument is that the bit size is too small to be identified as anything at all let alone copyrighted material, these bits are given and recieved by many not all from or to one source, you still with me? Now another argument especially regarding DVDs, is we all know in most countries you are allowed to make a backup copy of anything you have purchased, so we could say that copy prevention in any form is illegal, we can also argue that some of us have the knowledge and processing power to overcome that illegal encryption, so we upload ripped DVD Movies for the use of those who can't make their own backup, got the idea. Now what you can't do is use the above argument for a movie that is NOT AVAILABLE on a retail DVD, it can not possibly be a backup, so uploading it has zero legal argument, so it IS NOT STAYING ON THIS TRACKER IF REPORTED TO US, or if we happen to spot it. We don't actually look for such content we have enough to do without that, but if its reported via PM or whatever then we will look at it check retail availability and then act. Also if the actual owners of the movie ask us we will remove it, we won't police the uploads for them but if they do we will comply with their requests. What we will not do however is ever reveal the details of the uploader. My question is how they know it is not a DVDRip without watching it. As for me I can't watch all uploading torrents. I feel I am doing a favour for people making these stuff available and I don't deserve that. Even if I found that the releaser is lying, I can't change the tittle of the movie. I just don't get why not leave the torrent for users to judge whether it needs to be deleted or not. EDIT: got you Admin. Seems you had bad experiences at the past. As illogical stated, if you were making a backup copy of a DVD, the DVD would "have to be" released to the public. No one can have a backup copy of something that no one can get. Rental or Purchase. The deletion was done because the DVDrip was pre-dating the release of the DVD. If I up'ed a torrent of The Simpsons Season 50 as a "DVDrip" - I would assume, it would be deleted, because "The Simpsons" dont have a "Season 50" released as a DVD yet. Thus, legally, a DVD would not exist in the public to have a reason to need a backup copy of it. It's not a question of where you got it, or how "they" got it, just a simple reasoning that "the public" cant have a DVD of something that doesnt exist in the public. I know I would want a backup copy of my Simpsons Season 50 DVD, but one doesnt exist for me to own, thus, how could I have a backup copy of it?
